Jeep flips; one victim life-flighted

A red 1995 Jeep Cherokee bearing Gwinnett County plates flipped several times in the median of Highway 41 near Shirley’s Surplus this afternoon, snarling traffic and injuring two. One victim was life-flighted from the scene with neck injuries after being entrapped for some 40 minutes. The Georgia State Patrol has identified the driver as 19-year-old Bianca Whitney McCloud of Fayetteville. Firefighters worked relentlessly to free the woman who appeared to be stable. Another female in the vehicle suffered leg injuries and was transported by ambulance to a Griffin hospital. A third passenger in the Jeep apparently walked away from the crash. No other vehicles were involved. The huge emergency response resulted in one lane on the northbound side of the four-lane being closed. Both southbound lanes were later closed to land the medical evacuation helicopter. ”It looks like our guys used pretty much every thing they had to get her out,” fire chief Steve Andrews said.
