James ‘Jim’ Roberts, 46, former Concord mayor and Molena Police chief was arrested for probation violation Friday, May 22. Roberts took a plea deal earlier in the year by admitting guilt to a misdemeanor charge of malfeasance rather than face other charges against him which included two counts of solicitation of sodomy, one count of theft by conversion and a felony charge of violation of oath of office. He was sentenced Feb. 19 to 12 months probation, a $1,000 fine and 40 hours community service.
