John Gordon Kemp Jr.

Mr. John Gordon Kemp Jr., age 69, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Rome, Ga., to the late Mr. John Gordon Kemp Sr. and the late Mrs. Ruby Estelle Tidwell Kemp, he was retired from Southern Rivers Energy as a lineman and right-of-way procurement specialist. Mr. Kemp was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter, Ginger Cannon (and Michael) of Griffin; one sister, Betty Kemp Vaughan (and Leo Camp) of Griffin; one sister-in-law, Betty Knight Patterson of Barnesville; two grandchildren, Ashley Cannon and Nicholas Cannon; four nieces, Karen Darmody (and Kevin), Julie Cooper (and David), Tonya Chapman (and John) and Kim Jones (and David); and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services for Mr. John Kemp, and his wife Mrs. Pearl Kemp will be conducted Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Allen Newman and the Dr. Jeff Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
