John Henry Dixson obituary

Mr. John Henry Dixson, age 76, who resided at 201 Akins St. in Barnesville died on Friday, March 16, 2012. Memorial services were held on Wednesday, March 21, at 12 noon from the Greater Springhill Baptist Church in Milner, Ga. Interment followed in the West Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Rev. Craig Ogletree is pastor and Rev. Eddie Collier was the eulogist. Bentley’s Funeral Home was in charge of all professional services. Mr. Dixson is survived by two children, Richard Dixson (Leslie) of Atlanta and Roger Dixson (Shirley) of Griffin, Ga.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grand children and one great-great grandchild; sisters and brothers, Willie Nita Geiger, Olivia Barber (Robert) and Minister Windfred Dixson, all of Barnesville, Ga., Maudell Bealer (Gus) of Rex, Ga., and Katherine Whatley (Charles) of Atlanta, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie Dixson of Atlanta, Ga., Mary Dixson and Charles Hardaway (Sharon) of Rex, Ga., Geraldine Underwood and Timothy Hardaway (Sonya) of Cleveland, Ohio, Rev. Benjamin Hardaway of Macon, Ga., and John Lewis Hardaway of Barnesville, Ga.; aunt and uncle, Fannie Mae Lyons of Griffin and Horace Dixson (Elizabeth) of Barnesville; a special friend, Betty Rawls of Barnesville and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who will miss him.
