John Scott Stewart

John Scott Stewart, age 59 of Marietta, (formerly of Barnesville) passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at  North Fulton Hospital, Roswell, GA. He was born in Toledo, OH on November 13, 1962. John was an insurance agent in the Roswell area for over 18 years. He was also the caretaker for the McFarlane Nature Park in East Cobb from 1995-2022. He owned a lawn care service for many years as well. John graduated from Lamar County High School in Barnesville, GA in 1981. He graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.A. in Business Management in 1986.
John was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church in Roswell. He served as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, Awana leader and many other positions. He sang bass with the southern gospel group, The Master’s Men, for many years. John loved to sing. He especially loved trimming bushes at the church and helping with grounds maintenance.
A memorial service was held at Lebanon Baptist Church on Monday, January 31 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Brian Peterson officiating. Interment of ashes will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 4:00 p.m. at the McFarlane Nature Park.
John is survived by his wife of 35 years Valerie Stewart of Marietta; son, Nathan (Ashley) Stewart of Jacksonville,  FL; son, Ethan (Sarah) Stewart of Waukesha, WI; son, Ivan (Amber) Stewart of Atlanta; daughter, Jenny Stewart of Marietta; mother, Evelyn Floyd of Barnesville: father, Lowell Stewart of Roswell; brother, Jeff (Cindy) Stewart of Acworth; sister, Kelly (Tom) Moye of Orlando, FL; grandchildren, Blaze, Kelvy, Knox, and Essie Stewart of Jacksonville, FL and grandchildren, Silas and Emma Stewart of Waukesha, WI. 
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the McFarlane Nature Park at cobblandtrust.org or Lebanon Baptist Church Courtyard Garden Project Fund at lebanonbaptist.org 
Most importantly, John loved Jesus and followed Him as his Lord and Savior. John’s greatest desire for you right now would be to believe in Him also. He shared Jesus to many people and would love you to know Him who lived, died, was buried, resurrected, and now lives forever. Jesus Christ can save you from sin and death and give you a new life with Him for eternity.
