John T. Hamilton

Mr. John T. Hamilton, age 84, of Zebulon, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 31, 2013. Born Jan. 24, 1929, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. For over 28 years, he was a firefighter for the city of Forest Park and Clayton County. Mr. Hamilton had been a member of Second Baptist Church in Griffin for more than 20 years, where he served as an usher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Hamilton and Sallie M. Bryant; and sisters, Marie H. Bagley of Thomaston and Betty Sue Jenkins of Westville, Ill. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Boyt Hamilton; son and daughter-in-law, David and Bobbie Hamilton of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra H. and Randy Clark of Milner; grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Bruce Zeager of Barnesville, Craig and Tanya Clark of Zebulon, Nick and Stephanie Clark of Molena, Amy H. Wacha of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Sherrie H. and Clint Harper of Zebulon, Angela H. and Erik Harris of Hampton; great-grandchildren, arriving in late September, McKinleah Elaine Zeager, Autumn and Landon Clark, Tyre, Callista and Alayna Clark, Raymond and Caroline Wacha, J.D. and Kelly Dyal, Erik and Drake Harris and several nieces and nephews. Friends visited the family on Sunday, June 2, from 3-5 p.m. at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home in Zebulon. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 3, at 2 p.m. at Second Baptist Church in Griffin with Dr. David Hill, Rev. Terry Butler and Dr. Don Yarborough officiating. Interment will follow at Moody Memorial Gardens in Zebulon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Second Baptist Church Mission Fund, P.O. Box 708, Griffin, Ga., 30224. Moody-Daniel Funeral Home and Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
