John Thomas Darden of Barnesville passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, 950 Floyd Road, Forsyth, Ga., 31029. The Rev. Franklin Etheridge will officiate. The family will greet friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, at Monroe County Memorial Chapel.Mr. Darden, the son of the late John Jacob Darden and Zodie Mae Tingle Darden, was born June 3, 1913, in Monroe County, Ga. His children, John Jay Darden and Ruth Diane Darden Bajer preceded him in death. He was a retired contractor.Survivors include his children, Tommiejean Myers of Wood River, Ill., David Douglas Darden of Cleveland, Tenn., Donald Darden Cain of North Carolina, Lawrence Ray Darden of Jackson, Melba Ann Darden of Barnesville, Lou Ann Belote of Texas, Leslie Bradford of Forsyth, Brenda Williams of Barnesville and Ronald Anthony Darden of Missouri; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Please visit monroecountymemorialchapel.com to express tributes.Monroe County Memorial Chapel has charge of arrangements.
