Johnson Rd. burn led to heavy smoke

Heavy rains have Georgia Forestry crews and landowners running behind on controlled burns. One such burn on Johnson Road off Hwy. 341 South led to heavy smoke in the Barnesville area Monday. Controlled burns are key to healthy forests and beneficial to wildlife. With dry weather settling in, residents can expect to see such burns on a daily basis. Farmers may also be burning off stubble in harvested grain fields in the coming weeks and months.
