Jordan Forest Products, which operates a chip-n-saw plant in the B-LC Industrial Park has laid off dozens of employees. Employees reported late Thursday that some 60 employees – the entire second shift – had been laid off. Other employees confirmed those reports Friday but no official word has been forthcoming from the company. This is bad news for an already faltering local economy which saw its most recent unemployment figures rise above the 10% mark. More to follow…
