Mr. Joseph Gerald “Jerry” Buffington, age 80, of Zebulon, passed away April 2, 2023, at his home. He grew up in Pike County, son of the late Joseph Carson Buffington, Jr., and Mildred Frances Ballard Buffington. Jerry was a TV repairman and owned and operated Buffington TV Sales and Service in Barnesville for over 25 years. Jerry was also a real estate agent and a crop and cattle farmer. In his younger years, he was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and more recently Emmanuel Baptist Church in Zebulon. Jerry enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife: Aileen Buffington; children: Jeff Buffington (Laura) and Vicki Buffington (Ken); grandchildren: Ashley, D. J., Dustin, Jacob, and Jesse; sister: Janice Caraway (Fred); uncles: Freddie Buffington, Arthur Buffington, and Larry Ballard; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 5, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Bud Gleaton officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
