Judge Christopher Edwards has ordered Griffin circuit district attorney Scott Ballard and circuit public defender Joseph Saia to investigate allegations Judge Paschal English had an inappropriate relationship with a public defender who argued cases in his courtroom, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting. Saia told http://www.ajc.com/news/fayette/da-probes-alleged-relationship-512143.html that English allegedly had a relationship with public defender Kimberly Cornwell, a four-year veteran of the public defender’s office. Cornwell has been placed on leave with pay. Judge English resigned under pressure, April 23 – four days after fellow judge Johnnie L. Caldwell Jr. also quit under fire.
