Julia Juanita Holloway Worthy, 88, died Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Services were held Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 11 a.m. at White’s Chapel CME Church with pastors Sophiaett Lafaye Cooksey and Randy King officiating. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jessie C. and Neter Holloway of Barnesville.She was a graduate of Barnesville High and Industrial School and Morris Brown College, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics degree. She taught elementary school for over 36 years.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Bennie C. Worthy; sisters, Ethel Mays and Lelia Lyons-Adkins; brothers, Clarence R. Holloway, Jessie Holloway Jr., Homer Holloway, Paul Holloway and Claude Holloway Sr.She is survived by her children, Charles (Annette) Worthy of Sarasota, Florida, Theresa (John) Jones and Cheryl (Tony) Pickett all of Atlanta; grandchildren, Jonathan (Brandy) Jones, Patrice Worthy, Jason Jones, Alexandra Worthy, Reid Pickett and Theron Pickett; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Jones, Jr., Riley Jones and Ryan Jones; sister Edna Crawford and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and special friends, Wynelle Thurman, Minnie McMullin, Alice Leavell and Annie Bush. Bentley’s and Sons Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
