The winners of the 4 July, 2009 High Falls Lake Boat Parade “Most Patriotic Boats” were: First Place: Mel and Sherrill Williams & Family Second place: Linda and Arthur Jett & Family Third Place: Juanita Dehay THE EVENT SPONSORED BY HIGH FALLS /TOWALIGA WATERSHED ALLIANCE AND THE STAFF OF HIGH FALLS STATE PARK featured 14 registered boats and two unregistered. Each boat was judged for overall enthusiasm and overall effect. A big thank you goes to the four County Commissioner judges Jim Peters from Monroe County, Nancy Thrash and George Brown from Lamar County and Gator Hodges from Butts County. The sponsors for the event were Falls View Restaurant, Buck Creek Market, High Falls BBQ & Beverage, Hammond Hardware, J &W Antiques and Express Foods.
