Jury selected in Dixson murder case

Jury selection in the murder trial of Jamarris Williams was completed Monday at the Monroe County courthouse in Forsyth and opening statements will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Williams allegedly summoned the cab of John Dixson, stabbed Dixson in the throat and left him to die in a southeast Lamar County ravine on March 16, 2012. He is charged with malice murder, three counts felony murder, armed robbery, two counts aggravated assault and hijacking a motor vehicle. The jury consists of five white females, three white males, two black females and two black males.
