The Lamar County Trojan junior varsity team defeated Pike County 20-12 Thursday to remain undefeated for the season. Lamar, which trailed 12-0 at the half, staged a big comeback to take the win. Morishio Webb rushed for over 100 yards. Derrobias Brown had a sack and blocked a punt. Jarvis Merritt had two touchdown catches and an interception. Quarterback Tyler Young threw two touchdown passes, had another completion on a successful two-point conversion attempt and ran for another score. ”We shut down Pike County in the second half behind strong play from the entire defensive unit,” JV coach David Strobel said.
