Karen Carolyn Stroud

Miss Karen Carolyn Stroud died May 8, 2014. Miss Stroud was born Oct. 5, 1959, to the late Lula Mae Stroud and Bill Bentley in Augusta, Richmond County. Karen was educated in the Lamar school system and graduated in 1976. In school she ran track and played basketball. She joined Providence Community Baptist Church and later the Towaliga County Line Baptist Church. She was a cook at the Pastime Grill. She was preceded in death by her son Travis Rahad Stroud. Survivors include two sons, Jarius B. Stroud and Jasper D. Stroud; five grandchildren; sisters, brothers and their spouses, Patricia and Tim Harris, Edith and Edward Walton Jr., Curtis and Bernice Searcy, Shelia Gotell, Carlton Gotell, Donny and Donelle Gotell, Eddie and Denise Gotell, Eric Gotell, Derrick Gotell, Willie Buckner and Mildred and Lonnie Mays; uncle and aunt, Charlie Henry and Ganna Sullivan; sister-in-law, Louise Bentley; cousins, Gloria Elleby, Marcia Elleby, W.T. and Lucille Elleby and Yvonne Wilson; friends, Janice Collier and Vanessa Whatley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Services were held Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Towaliga County Line Baptist Church. Rev. Eddie F. Collier officiated. Burial was in Culloden City Cemetery. Bentley and Sons Funeral Home of Barnesville had charge of arrangements.
