Keilyn Tyus honored by Macon Touchdown Club

LC’s Keilyn Tyus, a rising senior, was honored by the Macon Touchdown Club at its Spring Jamboree Feb. 18. UGA head coach Kirby Smart gave the keynote address. Tyus was named one of the club’s Super 7 players. Upson-Lee’s Travon Walker, who has multiple local connections, was named player of the year. Walker has signed with UGA. Mary Persons quarterback J.T. Hartage was named back of the year. Tyus, who battled injuries all last season, projects to be an inside linebacker at the next level due to his size and speed. He is being recruited by Georgia Tech, UAB and Kentucky but should move up the recruiting lists if he can stay healthy for the 2019 season.
