Lamar County extension coordinator Keith Lassiter was lauded by many well-wishers at a retirement ceremony held last week at the Barnesville Civic Center. Among those making presentations to Lassiter was county commission chairman Jay Matthews. Lassiter has retired but will return to work on a part-time basis July 1 until funding problems are resolved and his successor is named.
