Lamar County’s first baby of 2015 is Kylan Lamar Foster, who was born at 12:42 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at Spalding Regional Medical Center.The proud parents are Ashley McDowell and LeDarius Foster of Barnesville. ‘He’s a good baby,’ said his mother. ‘He’s quiet and he loves to ride.’McDowell works at the Wal-Mart in Forsyth and is attending Central Georgia Technical College in Macon, studying to be an EMT. ‘I like to help people,’ said the 2007 Lamar County high school graduate.She is the daughter of Cathy McDowell, also of Barnesville, who works at Sunny Grove assisted living. Both parents have lived in Lamar County all their lives.Dad LeDarius Foster, son of Machele and Reginald Penn of Barnesville, works at Caterpillar. His mother’s smiling face can be found at the probate court office at the courthouse.Kylan weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19 inches long.His maternal greatgrandmother is Mary Watson of Barnesville. Paternal great-grandmother is Betty J. Murray of Barnesville.
