The GCAA champion Lady Highlanders open NJCAA softball World Series play Thurday in St. George, Utah. Fourteenth seed Gordon (37-17) will face sixth ranked and third seed Blinn (Tx.) at three o’clock local time. The Lady Buccaneers come into the tournament with a record of 49-8 and champions of Region XIV. The winner plays again at nine o’clock Thursday while the loser plays at 6:30 p.m. Gordon and Blinn are bracketed opposite sixth seed and ninth ranked Norteastern Oklahoma A & M (38-13) and eleventh seed Crowder (Co.) who is 44-16.
