The LC Lady Trojans advanced to the second round of the GHSA Class AA state soccer playoffs with a 9-1 win over the Dublin Lady Irish Thursday at Trojan Field. LC will face Lovett, the #2 team from Region 6AA, in round 2 May 5. Lovett topped Chattahoochee County 10-0 Thursday. The second round match will be in Barnesville. Lovett is #3 in the eurosports.com Class AA ratings while Lamar is #9. The Trojans started slow but eventually pulled away from Dublin with a balanced scoring attack. Trojan coach Wayne Calvert substituted early and often. Katie Jo Daniel led LC with four goals and two assists. Sydney Tenney added three goals for Lamar. Alexis Bedgood had one goal and two assists while Rachel Patterson had a goal. Caylin Cornelius also had an assist for LC.
