The Lamar County Lady Trojans are 8-10 on the softball diamond after splitting four games over the past two weeks. That stretch included winning one of three region games to go to 1-2 in 5AA.Lamar was shut out on the road by the top two teams in the region, falling to Pike County 2-0 in Zebulon and to Heard County 15-0 in Franklin. In between, the Lady Trojans knocked off Howard 12-3 in Macon and Jordan 9-1 at home.Lamar played very well against Pike but could muster only two hits in the game. Abby Walker pitched well enough to win and the defense was solid making no errors but the Lady Trojans just could not push any runs across the plate. It was a different story against Heard County as the Lady Braves took advantage of walks and errors to win in a rout. Hailey McKneely and Tyler Burnette had the only hits for Lamar.
