By Walter GeigerThe dynamic duo of senior Tomiyah Alford and freshman Tamya Blasingame put up a total of 119 points, nearly 40 per game, over a three game stretch last week as LC pushed its record to 16-2 overall and 6-0 in region competition.Coach Adam Ballard’s squad began the week with a 74-51 rout of Temple on the road. Alford had 28 points while Blasingame added 13. Other scorers were Issys Foster (8), Taschanda Castlin (8), Zaria Fletcher (6), Makalyn McGuire (5) and Madisyn Scandrett (3).On Friday, LC won on the road at Heard County 47-41. Alford knocked down 23 points to pace the Lady Trojans while Blasingame was held largely in check, scoring only seven. Other scorers were Castlin (11), Scandrett (4) and McGuire (2).On Saturday, Lamar hosted Spencer and rolled to a 72-23 rout. Alford had 25 points while Blasingame bounced back with 23. Other scorers were McGuire (8), Castlin 98), Fletcher (5) and Scandrett (3).Lamar hosts Spencer tonight with Jordan coming in Friday night. Both are region contests. Girls action begins at 6 p.m. both nights.Over that same period, the Trojans (5-12, 2-4) edged Temple 56-55 but lost to Heard 60-44 and Spencer 68-59. Individual scoring from those games was unavailable.Despite their success, the Lady Trojans remain unranked in the polls.
