Lady Trojans in postseason action today

The LC Lady Trojans (13-15) begin postseason play Monday afternoon with a first round, best of three series with the Vidalia Indians on the road. LC is the #4 seed from Region 3AA while Vidalia is the number one seed in the state. Going into the series, coach Mike Oberg felt his team could compete. UPDATE: LC lost both games of the doubleheader Monday 11-3 and 11-3 and were eliminated from postseason play. ’The rankings came out last week. I knew we played a tough schedule but I did not realize until the polls came out just how high some of our opponents were ranked in their classifications. While our record may not show it, we have competed well with high-ranked teams all season long,’ Oberg said. Last week, LC went 1-2 in non-region, tuneup games. On Monday, they spanked Taylor County 13-1 in four innings at Aldora Field. Autumn Hinkley went the distance, allowing only two hits. Jamizyah Banks had three hits and two RBIs while Ryla Traylor had three hits. Katelyn Ziehme had two hits and drove in two runs. On Wednesday, LC dropped both ends of a doubleheader to Marion County on the road. In game one, Lamar pounded out 16 hits but lost 9-7. Ziehme, Paige Mayfield and Kelyse Harris had three hits each. Taylor Turner drove in two runs. In game two, Lamar fell 11-9 in another slugfest. Harris had four hits and three RBIs while Traylor drove in two runs. For updates on playoff results, monitor
