Lamar Co. passes CRC and High School Graduation tests

The 2009-10 school year is starting with a little bit of good news. The Department of Education released 2008 scores for the Criterion Referenced Competency and Georgia High School Graduation tests ‘“ all of which show most Lamar County children passed. School officials said at the most recent board of education meeting the scores are an improvement over the previous year, praising a jump in math scores and targeting social studies and science as areas that need improvement. ”To say employees of the Lamar County school system are working hard on improving our academic status is an understatement,” said superintendent Dr. Bill Truby. “Each year we’re seeing results that give us encouragement and hope.”
