Temperatures dropped well into the single digits here early Tuesday with lows of six or seven degrees common. Sheriff Brad White said the cold has caused only broken pipes thus far though one such incident damaged units at an apartment complex. Sprinkler system pipes at an apartment complex across from Lamar County High School burst, damaging several units, the sheriff said. Other than inconveniences, things have been cold but calm.
