Lamar County goes to the polls; national GOP landslide looms

Lamar County voters go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 2 to cast ballots in the general election. Polling places countywide will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. There are three contested races here. None appear on ballots countywide. In Milner, two simultaneous elections will be run. Milner voters will vote in the general election at Milner Baptist Church. The city council vote will be conducted at Milner city hall. In addition, state and national races are on the ballot, including those for governor and lieutenant governor. Weekend polling shows Republicans taking control of the U.S. House of Representatives and possibly the U.S. Senate. As always, The Herald-Gazette will be your go-to source for election coverage.
