Rivalries run deep in all sports. Tennis is certainly not excluded.The Lamar County boys and girls tennis teams will revisit their rival Pike County this week for ‘The Old Wooden Racket’.The overall winners, boys and girls combined, keep the racket as well as a plaque until next season. Along with the tangible awards come, of course, appropriate bragging rights as kings and queens of the court.This week will also find the teams traveling to Manchester for the last regular season region match. On Thursday, Monticello will play at LCCHS. The boys are 2-1 in region play while the girls are 3-1.Both teams have qualified for the region tournament, to be held at home on April 14th and 16th.
