Lamar deputies, local DNR ranger help nab armed robbery suspects

A local DNR ranger and five Lamar County deputies wre involved in the arrest of two men who allegedly robbed the Dollar General store in High Falls Wednesday. The Monroe County S.O. was notified of the robbery in progress at about 2 p.m. and dispatched deputies. DNR ranger Keith Page of Barnesville and his K9, Drake, were in the area and arrived within minutes. Witnesses told Page that the two suspects, one armed with a shotgun, had fled into a nearby wooded area. A perimeter was established and a search involving Page, his K9 and deputies from Lamar, Butts and Monroe counties had been mounted when information was received that the suspects were at a residence on High Falls Road. Law enforcement swooped in and the two men were arrested without further incident. They have been indentified as D’Andre Jackson, 18, of Jackson and Marvin Mann, 21, of Atlanta. Mann had been living at the residence where the arrests took place. Despite differing last names, the suspects are brothers. They face charges of armed robbery and possession of a firearm during commission of a felony. Cell phones and about $300 in cash taken from the store were recovered as was the shotgun used in the crime. LCSO personnel involved in the arrests included Chris Webster, Brandon Goins, Brett Newman, Chad Payne and Al White.
