Both squads are unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.When and Where:Friday 7:30 p.m. at Thompson Stadium, 1210 Shurling Drive, Macon, Ga 31207.To Get There:Take I-75 South toward Macon. At exit 165, take ramp left for I-16 East toward Savannah. At exit 1A, take ramp right for US-129 toward Milledgeville. Turn left onto North Avenue. Turn right onto Shurling Drive. Thompson Stadium is next to Appling Middle School on the left. The trip is approximately 40 miles or 45 minutes. Take into consideration Macon rush hour traffic.Weather:Mostly clear skies with temps in the mid to low 70s throughout the game. There is little to no chance of rain but a 100% chance of Thunder.Last week:Lamar County beat Taylor County 40-14. Northeast beat Monticello 29-6. The Raiders also have wins over Twiggs County (40-19), Central Macon (7-0) and Southwest Macon (21-6).Last year:Last year Lance Austin threw TD passes of 55 yards to Qua Searcy and 87 yards to Lawrence Austin and the Trojan defense held the Raiders to 144 yards of total offense in a 36-0 win at Thunder Alley.Series:4th meeting. Lamar has won all three including 48-0 in 2011 at Trojan Field and 21-13 in 2010 in Macon.Northeast defense vs. Trojan offense:The Raiders boast the top defense in 4-AA allowing just over seven points per game. Last week they gave up a lone touchdown to Monticello who had racked up over 100 points in its two previous outings. Lamar leads the region in scoring at 38 points per game.Northeast offense vs. Trojan defense:The Raiders rely heavily on their running game and are averaging 24.3 points per game. Lamar’s defense is yielding 12.3 points per game with most of the points they have allowed coming late when the game is in hand.Top Raider players:Senior quarterback Davion Anderson (#7) has completed 25 of 57 pass attempts for 428 yards while carrying the ball 48 times for 301 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has two interceptions on defense. His favorite receiver is junior Ta’Konan Denson who has caught 12 passes for 276 yards and one score. The vaunted Raider defense is led by juniors Dequarius Johnson (#3) and Eddie Gibson (#61) and sophomore Quinterius Harvey (#26) who have combined for 25 tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks.Northeast coach:Bruce Mullen, 55-44 in his 10th season.Rankings:Lamar County is tied for 2nd in Class AA in a composite ranking of six polls including a number two ranking by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
