Lamar records 100th COVID death

Lamar County recorded its 100th death since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic recently. The death, that of a 75-year-old white female with comorbidity factors, was reported by DPH Aug. 10.

Pike has the lowest death toll among Lamar’s contiguous counties at 74. All the others have death tolls exceeding Lamar’s. They are Spalding (366), Upson (180), Butts (148) and Monroe (139).
