Public schools in Lamar County are closed Monday due to inclement weather. Update: Classes at St. George’s Episcopal School in Milner have also been cancelled. Update II: Classes at Gordon College are cancelled until noon. GC staff should report at 10 a.m. if travel permits. At 6 p.m., light snow was still falling but Intellicast radar showed Lamar on the back end of the snow line. Snow will fall off quickly after 8 p.m. and our snow chances are nil after midnight. Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 27 degrees tonight, however, so expect a slushy mess in the morning on your way to work.
