By Ken K. GreenThe Georgia High School Association placed its member schools into regions last week under its new six classification system. Schools have until this Friday to appeal their placement and request lateral movement in the class they were assigned according to the number of ninth through 11th graders as submitted by each school in October.Lamar County will remain in Region 4-AA for the 2012-14 school years. The GHSA reclassifies every two years to accommodate for growth or decline in student enrollment. Lamar is not expected to appeal its region assignment.Staying with Lamar in 4-AA will be Crawford County, Northeast Macon, Putnam County and Monticello. Joining the region will be Bleckley County moving from 3-AA, along with Macon County and Taylor County, both who now play in Region 4-A.
