Lamar countians go to the polls today to cast ballots in the Georgia General Primary. Polling places will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. throughout the county today. Voters will have to choose a Democratic or Republican ballot upon entering the polls and will have to vote that same ballot in the event of a runoff. Three local races will be decided in the primary balloting. As it has for the last 30 years, The Herald-Gazette will provide its readers with realtime election results direct from the tabulation center for all local races Tuesday night. Polls do not close until 7 p.m. Initial results are expected to roll in at about 7:45 p.m.
