Lamar’s 7-8 Stars advance

Lamar County’s 7 and 8 year old allstar softball team has advanced in the winner’s bracket to the second round of the Dixie Darling State Tournament in Butler.Down 4-0 early, the local lasses shook off the nerves to rebound for a 9-4 win over Marion County Thursday. Lamar will play Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the 8-team, double elimination tourney. The tournament champion earns a berth in the Dixie Darling World Series in Denson, Tx at the end of the month.
