A large crowd was on hand at the National Night Out at Ritz Park August 4. The kids frolicked while the adults strategized about fighting crime and setting up Neighborhood Watch programs. The event was observed nationwide and coordinated locally by Sgt. Stead Walker of the LCSO. All local law enforcement agencies and governments were involved. After the business was handled, the adults and kids munched on hit treats from James Blackmon’s grill. Further meetings are planned in an effort to organized the crime fight neighborhood by neighborhood throughout Lamar County.
