After five Northeast Patriot football players were among a dozen victims at a Saturday night shooting in Macon, Lamar and Bibb officials are promising extra security for LC teams playing at Bibb venues this week. Lamar played Northeast the night before the shootings.

Our thoughts and prayers are with our colleagues, friends, and neighbors in Bibb County following the tragic events of this past weekend. We are thinking of those who were injured, their families, and everyone affected. We have reached out to the Bibb County School System to offer our support as their community begins to heal.
We also recognize that families may have concerns about our upcoming events in Bibb County. On Thursday, our volleyball team is scheduled to play Central and Rutland at Central Macon High School. On Friday, our varsity football team is scheduled to play Southwest Macon at Thompson Stadium.
Bibb County School System has assured us that heightened security and additional safety arrangements will be in place for these events. Our students will also travel with extra security. We will remain in contact with Bibb County officials and share any changes to our plans with families.
We stand with our neighbors during this difficult time, and the safety of our students, staff, and families remains our priority.
