Erring on the side of caution with heavy weather approaching, Lamar County schools are releasing students early today. The middle and high schools will dismiss at 1:45. The primary and elementary schools will dismiss at 2:30 p.m. All other afternoon activities are cancelled. An approaching squall line will bring high winds and heavy rain to the area beginning at about 3 p.m.
