LC soccer teams battling for titles, host region games this week

By Walter Geiger The LC Lady Trojans remained undefeated in region play as they knocked out two key conference wins at home last week. UPDATE: LC split Tuesday’s two games at Trojan Field with the girls winning a 2-1 thriller over previously undefeated Peach County while the boys lost another tight match 3-2 to the visitors. On March 15, Lamar edged Putnam County 3-0. Hailey Hadsell had two goals for Lamar while Katie Jo Daniel added one. Friday night, LC hosted the Lady Canes of Monticello and routed them 10-0. Daniel had a great night, netting five goals while Hadsell added three and Rachel Patterson had two. The Lady Trojans are now 6-3 overall and 5-0 in region play. Meanwhile, the Trojans split their two matches last week. LC lost to region foe Putnam 5-2 March 15. Chase Bennett and Dawson Davis got scores for the Trojans. Lamar bounced back Friday night, as they pounded out a 4-1 win over Monticello at Trojan Field. Bryce Garner had two goals to lead the Trojans while Bennett and Jacob Mason had one apiece. The Lamar teams have two home games this week. Peach County is here tonight and the Bleckley County Royals come in Thursday. Girls matches begin at 5:30 p.m. with the boys following.
