LC soccer teams get region wins

The LC Lady Trojans opened Region 4AA soccer play with a 6-0 win over Bleckley County in Cochran Friday night. The Lady Royals had a great keeper but little else. ‘We missed a Pk in the first four minutes and probably took 15 shots on goal before we got one to go in. Their keeper was outstanding,’ LC coach Wayne Calvert said. Lamar senior Katie Jo Daniel had a great night, knocking home five goals and adding one assist. Freshman Hailey Hadsell got her first varsity goal off that assist. Meanwhile, the Lamar defense was never really tested. ’Our keeper Ashley Haddock may have touched the ball three times during the game and none of those were shots,’ Calvert concluded.
