LC students train at Gordon

Members of the Lamar County High School Allied Health and Medicine class have been training with Gordon State College student nurses during fall semester. The high school students, under the direction of Linda Bottoms and Jodi Kidd, recently trained on the mannequins in Gordon’s pediatric simulation lab. LC student Brianne McDowell wants to be a nurse and says the training she is receiving with actual nursing students is ‘extremely valuable.’ ’I want to help people and have a positive impact on their life,’ she said of her career choice. She plans to attend Gordon State. LC student Anna Cordle hopes to become a radiology technician. ’This is great experience,’ she said. ‘I’m learning from the Gordon nursing professors as well as the actual nursing students. It really makes learning fun.’
