With a chance to improve their seeding for this week’s region tournament, the Lamar County Trojans instead went 1-2 last week. Lamar beat Macon County at home 86-79 Tuesday then lost 74-63 at Crawford County Friday and 46-43 Saturday at Howard. Prelvis Paster’s Trojans finished 9-14 overall and 6-6 in region play. They will play the winner of last night’s play-in game between Bleckley County and Putnam County at 8:30 p.m. A win would earn the Trojans a semifinal matchup with Monticello at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Crawford County. The title game will be played Saturday at 8:30 p.m. in Roberta. The LC ladies, coached by Tamica Andrews, reversed the boys’ last week results as they lost to Macon County 55-37 but toppled Crawford 66-38 and Howard 40-37. The Lady Trojans (5-18, 2-10) faced Crawford in the play-in game last night at Putnam County. A win would bracket them with Macon County tonight at 7 p.m. at Monticello. The semifinal and final are at Crawford. LC would face Bleckley County at 4 p.m. Friday with the title game set for 7 p.m. Saturday.
