LCHS names new baseball coach

By Ken K. Green Former Georgia Perimeter College coach Stewart Bailey has been chosen to replace Greg Williams as head coach of the Lamar County High School baseball team. Williams resigned in June to become assistant head coach at Tift County High School. Under Bailey, Georgia Perimeter was 43-16 and finished second in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association during the 2012 regular season. The Jags were ousted from the GCAA tournament by Gordon who went on to the NJCAA World Series finishing third in the nation. Bailey, reportedly, left GPC after one season because of budget cuts that severely affected the baseball program.
