The Lamar County Middle School Lady Trojans shut out Monroe County to become the Middle Georgia Middle School Athletic League champions. The team went 10-2 for the regular season, losing only to Pike County. During the regular season, they scored 130 runs against opponents while only allowing 50 to be scored against them.
In the Friday, Oct. 7 championship game, Kylee Kington pitched the entire seven-inning game, allowing three hits, no runs and striking out seven batters. The Lady Trojans tallied eight hits in the game with Dakota Crowley, Ansleigh Humphries and Caitlyn Whittaker getting two hits each in the championship victory.
