LCMS soccer teams go for twin perfect seasons today. Lady Trojans prevail, Trojans fall

The soccer teams at Lamar County Middle School are both undefeated at 9-0 going into the final regular season matches today.

The teams hosted Jasper County Monday. The Lady Trojans rolled to a 7-1 win while the Trojans booked a 2-0 victory. The Lady Trojans have outscored opponents 65-3. The Trojans have outscored opponents 28-2.

The teams close out regular season today with a trip to Monroe County. The girls game is set for 5 p.m. with the critical boys match to follow. The Monroe boys are also undefeated.

Tonight’s action will solidify the playoff picture. Playoff information in this week’s print edition is incorrect in that one team will have to travel for the Saturday’s championship games.

PLAYOFFS: The girls will play at 10 a.m. Saturday at Trojan Field. The opponent has yet to be determined. The title game will be played at 2 p.m. at Trojan Field.

The boys will play in Forsyth. Time and opponent yet to be determined.
