LCSO investigators recover over $500,000 worth of vehicles, equipment

Deputies from the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office, working off a tip from the Jackson Police Department, recovered over $500,000 worth of stolen vehicles and other equipment Sept. 26. Jackson investigators went to a residence located at 954 Community House Road, located a stolen vehicle in the front yard and called in LCSO investigators who obtained search warrants. The subsequent search led to the recovery multiple stolen items including eight trucks, two generators, five trailers and four all terrain vehicles. Multiple firearms were also recovered. The recovered items had been reported stolen over a wide area of Georgia including Taylor, Bartow, Paulding, Walton, Butts, Cherokee and Polk counties. Kenneth Joe Taylor, 48, of the Community House Road address was arrested and charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of articles with altered identification marks. ’The investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected,’ Lamar sheriff Brad White said.
