The Barnesville-Lamar County Industrial Development Authority voted Thursday to rename its Legacy Park industrial park for longtime Barnesville city manager Kenny Roberts. ”Kenny is usually in the background when it comes to taking recognition for those things in which he has played a dominant and important role. He has never sought recognition nor to be in the spotlight,” Barnesville mayor Peter Banks said in recommending the move. Legacy Park is off the MLK Bypass and home to the burgeoning Piedmont Green Power plant.
