Letters to Santa bring smiles, tears; hundreds published in this week’s print edition

As usual, The Herald Gazette’s annual collection of letters to Santa provide insight into what are the most popular toys and the emotional struggles kids go through, particularly around Christmas.

The hottest items on the collection of wish lists this year are all things Barbie, guns, bikes, baby dolls, dinosaurs, XBox, PS5, hover boards, LOL dolls, Popits, monster trucks, iPhones, tablets, remote control cars and Fidgets.

In her letter to the man in red, Haven asks, “Is my elf coming. I know I have been a little mad but I am sorry.”

Adalyn has an unusual request. “And, in my stocking, I just want peanut butter not to go on anything just for me to eat. I love peanut butter,” she writes.

Andrew has a lengthy list of wants but adds, “(I want) a present for my sister. Give it to me so I can keep it a secret.”

Rylen is hoping for $80,000 so he can give $20,000 to his family. In addition to a punching bag, a pet and a snake, he wants “my granddaddy to come back and to see my girlfriend.”

Count your many blessings as you read through hundreds of these letters in the 12.21.21 print edition of The Herald Gazette.

Merry Christmas to you and yours from all of us here at The Herald Gazette and
