Mrs. Lila Ruth Piper Garrett, age 75, of Forsyth passed away Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born Nov. 24, 1938 to the late Mr. Carlton Thomas Piper and the late Mrs, Miriam Allene Ussury Piper. Mrs. Garrett worked as a sales clerk for Express Foods. Survivors include her three children, Teri Lyne (and Gary) Washington of Jackson, Thomas Wilson Garrett of Forsyth and Miriam Arlene Ringrose of Philadelphia; one sister, Vivian Senn-Thompson of Barnesville; and 11 grandchildren. Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Memorial services for Mrs. Lila Garrett will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home with Mr. Frank Abbott officiating. Interment will be private.
