Lloyd Murphy, Sr.

Deacon Lloyd Murphy, Sr. age 74 who resided at 613 Addison Way, McDonough, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, July 18th. Funeral services was held on Saturday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the
Henderson Temple True Church of God in Christ, 757 Old Talbotton Road, Thomaston, Georgia.
Interment followed in the Lamar Memory Garden, Hwy 341 S. Barnesville, Georgia. Elder Willie Mann is pastor and Elder Robert Reynolds, Sr. was the Eulogist.
Deacon Lloyd Murphy was born in Culloden, Georgia on October 10, 1948 to the late Wilmon Murphy and Lucille Murphy Jones. He attended school in Barnesville Georgia. He began his career at Aldora Mills where he was employed for 30 plus years until retirement.
He began his walk with Christ at a young age with the Triumph Holiness Church and later joined Shaw Temple (Barnesville, GA) Henderson Temple (Thomaston GA) True Church of God in Christ and lastly serving as a pillar at Christ Anointed Church where he served faithfully. Holding different offices in the churches, he served as a Deacon and worked loyally with his pastors. He was well known in the Lamar County community, serving where he could.
In 1980, he married the love of his life Sharron Ann Reynolds. To that union they were blessed with five children and three grandchildren. They remained married for 43 years serving the Lord in the
beauty of holiness. Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife Sharron Ann Murphy.
After years of dedicated service God called his servant from labor to reward on July 18, 2023. He leaves to cherish his memory his four beautiful daughters Helen, Janelle, Brittany, Demetria and one loving son Lloyd Damien Murphy: his three amazing grandchildren Sydney, Tristan, and Kyndall Murphy. Two sisters Louise and Mildred Murphy, two brothers-in-laws Willie Reynolds and Robert (Virginia) Reynolds, six sisters-in-law Deborah Jones, Terri Brehler, Victoria (Anthony) Bryant, Carolyn Brown, Albertine Murphy, Bettye Murphy, Annie B. Murphy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, brothers, and sisters in Christ.
